I recently decided to change my major to Graphic Design. I work with the programs : Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver (all of them are currently CS5). I can do almost a lot in each program but I haven’t found that creative design side yet because I lack experience and knowledge when it comes to designing, tips, tricks and just overall being creative…Ever heard of creative block. I seem to have to that symptom lately.
So, does anyone know of any good books, websites, blogs and so on that can help me master all the tips and tricks of designing.
www.Free-Photoshop-Video-Tutorials.com Learn how to add text to any surface taken in perspective so it realistically looks like it was painted on. Here we cover the use of the type tool, vanishing point filter, and custom “blend if” layer style with the underlying layer.
I have no experience in graphic design but I would like to start making posters like this (http://i.imgur.com/7bGgz.jpg) My school does not teach graphic design. I would probably be using GIMP unless there is a better free alternative for it. I can’t seem to find any tutorials for something like that. I already know what I want to make but I don’t know how.

1. I am creating some blends on paint shop pro and i really want to make one with a photograph of someone with a white backdrop like ones you see behind models in magazines. Its not completely white, like a gradient of colors – cream/brown. Does anyone know any links of images i can use, or how i can create that type of background/backdrop?
Like this sort of colored background….. http://www.impawards.com/tv/posters/americas_next_top_model_ver10.jpg
2. Also, does anyone know any good websites which have tutorials and resources made by someone on the internet which help you? Like this website … www.swimchick.net

I plan to enroll in Graphic Design school, and I don’t have any experience in Adobe software. Want to start with illustrator as it’s one of their requirements for admission. Can someone recommend a good tutorial to begin practicing? Thank you so much.
Am looking for a website that gives training in basic tools to advanced.
